Speed run of Super Mario Bros. done on October 9 2004. Available in normal and high quality. Author's comments: This is the cleanest, best looking SMB run I've done, although some levels can be finished slightly faster with better tactics so I estimate that I could do better by five to seven tenths overall. Easily the best part is in 8-3 with the Hammer Bros (I was very surprised I didn't die). Enjoy :) ( 1 reviews ) Topics: Mario, NES
Speed run of Final Fantasy II in 38 segments completed on December 19 2005. Available in low quality only, video quality is poor when moving in the overworld. Timing note: Game's timer is referenced at its last visible point, then real time from then to final damage numbers appearing is added. Resulting time is rounded up to the next whole minute since the game timer could've have been :59 seconds at the last visible moment. Bad Mojo is a part FMV, part 2-D puzzle, game that was originally released back in 1996. Loosely based on The Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka, the game puts the player into the role of a common cockroach and tasks them with making it through a series of household areas while trying to avoid the various traps and hazards they contain. Although the game is pretty short (It can be beaten in about an hour if you know where to go) it sold well enough when it first came out to warrant a re-release in... Speed run of Super Mario Bros. done on April 10 2007. Available in five versions: low/normal quality DivX, and normal/high/low quality H.264 MPEG-4. Author's comments: I believe that this may be a perfect time by Speeddemosarchive's timing of Super Mario Bros. 1. First off, I'd like to thank my brother for helping me figure out a faster way of beating the game. If it weren't for him, a run like this probably wouldn't have been seen for a long while. I also want to thank those who encouraged me... ( 41 reviews ) Topics: Mario: Super Mario Bros., NES

Author's comments: Credits: Nate - For capturing the run from VHS Radix - For hosting the run mike89 - His Banjo Tooie 100% Speed Guide was a great starting point for strategizing my own routes, and had a few tricks that I probably wouldn't have thought of myself (such as getting the grenade eggs early to defeat... WARNING. ALL VIDEOS SHOULD BE CONSIDERED . YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. God of War III was released March 16, 2010 for the Playstation 3. It was highly anticipated after the success and cliffhanger ending of God of War II. Like its predecessor, it took everything from the game before and turned it up to 11. Serious graphical improvements and boss battles so large it is hard to tell where your character even is. God of War III follows the adventures of the once god of war turned mortal, Kratos. It... So, what do you suppose you get when you cross Resident Evil 4, Shenmue, and Twin Peaks? The answer took the form of a game released in February of 2010; a low budget survival horror game from a small Japanese studio. Originally known as Rainy Woods in 2007, and given the name Red Seeds Profile upon release in Japan, the version of the game released in America was called Deadly Premonition. Speed run of Chrono Trigger in 34 segments completed on October 26 2005. Timing note: uses game timer at last seen moment in final part plus remaining real time until final damage on Lavos. Author's comments: This is by far my most polished run -- over a month in the making and numerous test runs and multiple strategies attempted, resulting in a final run that dips below the five hour mark. What will impress most people, I predict, will be the boss fights. Most of the bosses I take on are at... ( 1 reviews ) Topics: Chrono Trigger, Super Nintendo

The King's Quest Wiki tells many sad stories concerning the eighth entry in the series, including the reason for the lack of a Roman numeral - Roberta Williams didn't want people to associate this travesty with the earlier, good games in the series. Okay, I paraphrase, but the fact remains that this game isn't very good, and Sierra knew it. It abandons everything that the King's Quest series had - interesting stories, challenging puzzles, and the beloved main characters of the royal family of... Notes/Missions in each part: Part 1 (Big Smoke, Sweet & Kendl, Ryder, Tagging Up Turf, Cleaning The Hood, Drive-Thru, Nines and AKs, Drive-By, Sweet's Girl) - This could definitely be improved on. Note that SDA's standard timing method is used instead of the game's timer as it doesn't display at the end. Author's comments: Well, this is my first speed run, and one of a game I've always wanted to try it on. Speed run of Quake 4 on private skill in 26 segments completed on December 29 2005. Available in 320x240 DivX and 640x480 h.264 versions. Author's comments: This game is extremely linear. Not only have they removed just about everything that can speed up your progress, like rocket jumping, they have also blocked like 99% of all possible shortcuts with invisible walls. Only one major trick is left to abuse and that is strafe jumping, which doesn't seem to work equally well on all surfaces. All... Topic: Quake

Low% "secret world assisted" speed run of Metroid Prime 2: Echoes in 33 segments, completed on February 25 2005. Author's comments: This is a 20% "out-of-bounds" run of Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, in which I skip two "essential" items; the echo visor and the cobalt translator (and all non-essential items). In a nutshell, it was a quick and dirty experiment to see whether 20% could be made to work under speed conditions. While I wanted the run to be reasonably tight,... Earthworm Jim 2 (this game! right here!) delivers on all of these, and the gameplay is pretty good to boot. Sure, on the surface, it's another rescue-the-princess platformer... but you have to imagine that surface being the underside of a second-grader's desk: covered in dried gum, boogers, and jokes about barnyard animals. Fortunately for us, the viewer, the game's sound, graphics and humor held up well over time. In my opinion, this is a better game than the original, which is why I'm jumping...
